Product Guarantees

We offer the following guarantees on our furniture, to ensure that you own only the best quality Coricraft furniture.

Important

• We take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our accessories, carpets, and
  homeware. All non-furniture items are covered by a 6-month guarantee, as provided
  for by the Consumer Protection Act.

This guarantee covers:

• Manufacturing faults or defects not caused by misuse or wear and tear. Items that fail to meet the purpose for which they were intended, provided they were used correctly and cared for according to our guidelines.
• Products that do not match the sample, description, or display as presented at the time of purchase.

If your item is found to be defective within 6 months of purchase:

• We will offer to repair, replace, or refund the item, depending on the nature of the fault and your preference.

This guarantee does not cover:

• Damage caused by accidents, misuse, neglect, or improper care.
• Natural wear and tear from regular use.
• Variations in colour, texture, or design that are inherent to handcrafted or
  natural-fibre items.
• For items like carpets and soft furnishings, we recommend following the care instructions provided to ensure your item remains in excellent condition.
• If you're unsure whether an issue is covered or need care advice, we're here to help!

Important

• Test your Coriguard on the day your product is delivered.
• Apply a drop of clean water to each leather/fabric panel.
• A bubble will form to show that the Coriguard has been applied correctly.
• A wet spot will form if the fabric/leather has not been Coriguarded correctly.
• Do not push the drop into the fabric/leather.

Periodically test

• Check that the Coriguard is working after each clean by dropping one drop of clean water onto each touch panel.
• Products that are in higher traffic areas will need to be retreated more frequently.

Reapply CoriGuard

• Coriguard will wear with use, retreat every couple of years to avoid staining.
  
• If you spill hot liquids onto the product, you may find that the CoriGuard needs to be reapplied.

The liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original price of the CoriGuard treatment, and excludes:

• This warranty does not apply to furniture used for commercial or rental purposes.
• Stains caused by corrosive liquids such as paint, bleach, dyes, dye transfer, ink, marking pens, or lipstick, as well as wax that damages any part of the fabric/leather, are not covered.
  
• Stains or discoloration caused by defects or flaws in the fabric or from the manufacturing process are not covered.
  
• Stains caused by wood, vinyl, metal, and all plastic parts of the furniture are not covered.
  
• Materials that are ripped, torn, vandalized, altered by a customer or a third party, or damaged due to causes beyond Coricraft's control, such as fire, floods, or lightning, are not covered.
• Fabric not been cleaned and maintained according to our recommended care and maintenance is not covered.
• Fabric that has discolored or stained due to exposure to sunlight or moisture is not covered.

Additional Terms:

• This agreement is non-transferable and is limited to the original purchaser. It is important to retain the certificate along with youroriginal sales receipt as proof of purchase.
• In the event of a claim, please notify Coricraft within 24 hours of the stain occurring by sending an email to info@coricraft.co.za.
  

• Coriguard is our specially applied fabric protection treatment, designed to make
  everyday life a little easier by helping to repel spills and resist stains.

While there is no specific time limit on your Coriguard protection, here’s what you can expect:

• Long-lasting protection against most common household spills like wine, coffee, and juice.
• Easier cleaning, giving you more time to enjoy your home instead of worrying about messes.
• Peace of mind knowing your fabric is treated with a trusted solution designed to enhance its durability.

Please note:

• Coriguard assists with stain resistance but is not a stain-proof or waterproof barrier.
• Protection may reduce with time, heavy use, or repeated cleaning, especially with harsh chemicals.
• To maintain the effectiveness of your treatment, we recommend promptly blotting spills, avoiding scrubbing, and following our fabric care instructions.
• This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or exposure to substances not intended for household use.
• We stand by the quality of our protection treatment.

Frame

• 10 years on the internal wooden frame (against defects in the materials and workmanship). This
  guarantee assumes normal usage of the couch.
• For all non-couch fully upholstered product, 1 Year from date of invoice for frame and craftsmanship.
• Your guarantee provides for a free repair or replacement of any faulty component, provided that the product is in one of the designated delivery areas.

Stitching

• 2 years on stitching (free from defects in the materials and workmanship).

Webbing /springs

• 2 years on webbing and springs (against defects in the materials and workmanship).
• Regular dressing of your couch reduces wear and tear of your seat webbing and springs.

Foam and filling

• 2 years on foam and fibre fillings (to be free from abnormal loss of resiliency).
• Our cushions will feel harder when your couch first arrives, as the filling is fresh out of the factory. As you start to use your couch, you will notice the cushions will soften and settle in.
• Normal use and ageing is not covered by this guarantee and shall not be considered a defect in the materials or workmanship.

Fabric

• Fabric is not guaranteed due to the locational impact. Dye lots may vary from batch to batch.

Guarantees do not apply to:

• Defects or damage arising from negligence, abuse or misuse, including (but not limited to) improper maintenance – referred to as ‘dressing’, exposure to water, direct sunlight, coastal air, chemicals, accidents, any use for which the product was not designed nor, does it cover ordinary wear and tear;
  failure to comply with Coricraft's care instructions or specifications.
• Extreme use is considered damages caused by more than normal wear and tear, including: Solvent spills, Ink, Paint, Body fluids (Human or Animal), incorrect cleaning, sitting on arms and backs of the sofas or placing furniture outdoors in direct sunlight or proximity to an open heat source.

Guarantees will be honoured if:

• The defect existed at the time of delivery and manifested during the guarantee period. Excludes normal wear and tear. Care instructions and maintenance were adhered to.
• The product concerned is used for the purpose intended and in a domestic environment i.e., commercial use is not guaranteed.

Leather

• The leather is 100% Genuine Bovine leather and owes its inherent beauty to variations in the grain, texture and colour tones. These natural characteristics contribute to the product’s uniqueness. This guarantee does not cover natural characteristics of leather such as markings caused by insect bites, barbed wire, veining, abrasions, injuries to the animal, wrinkling or variations in grain or colour tones.

Guarantees do not apply to:

• Defects or damage arising from negligence, abuse or misuse, including (but not limited to) improper maintenance – referred to as ‘dressing’, exposure to water, direct sunlight, coastal air, chemicals, accidents, any use for which the product was not designed nor, does it cover ordinary wear and tear;
  failure to comply with Coricraft's care instructions or specifications.
• Extreme use is considered damages caused by more than normal wear and tear, including: Solvent spills, Ink, Paint, Body fluids (Human or Animal), incorrect cleaning, sitting on arms and backs of the sofas or placing furniture outdoors in direct sunlight or proximity to an open heat source.

Guarantees will be honoured if:

• The defect existed at the time of delivery and manifested during the guarantee period. Excludes normal wear and tear. Care instructions and maintenance were adhered to.
• The product concerned is used for the purpose intended and in a domestic environment i.e., commercial use is not guaranteed.

Guarantees will be honoured if:

• The defect existed at the time of delivery and manifested during the guarantee period. Excludes normal wear and tear. Care instructions and maintenance were adhered to.
• The product concerned is used for the purpose intended and in a domestic environment i.e., commercial use is not guaranteed.

Guarantee period

• Guarantee - Minimum of 1 year to a maximum of 2 years.
• Warranty - Between 1 and 15 years depending on the mattress.
• Each mattress will carry its own guarantees and warranties and will be printed on the label.
• Should any manufacturing defect arise within the guarantee period, the said product will either be
  repaired or replaced at no cost to the customer.
• The manufacturer retains the right to repair or replace in the guarantee period.

Guarantees do not apply to:

• Defects or damage arising from negligence, abuse or misuse, including (but not limited to) improper maintenance – referred to as ‘dressing’, exposure to water, direct sunlight, coastal air, chemicals, accidents, any use for which the product was not designed nor, does it cover ordinary wear and tear; failure to comply with Coricraft's care instructions or specifications.
• Extreme use is considered damages caused by more than normal wear and tear, including Solvent spills, Ink, Paint, Body fluids (Human or Animal), incorrect cleaning, sitting on furniture arm or backs, or
  placing furniture outdoors in direct sunlight or close to an open heat source.

Warranty

• Your Coricraft mattress or base is warranted against defective workmanship and material only.
• If you observe a defect, please contact us and ensure you have the original proof of purchase which will be required to validate your claim.
• If a defect is found, we reserve the right to repair or replace the product at our discretion.
• Only the faulty item will be replaced or repaired in the sleep system.
• The warranty coverage runs from the original date of purchase and repair, or replacement of a faulty mattress or base does not extend the warranty period.
• The warranty period will remain effective from the original date of purchase.
• If identical materials or product are not available at the time for repair or replacement, we reserve the right to substitute the materials or products of equal quality.
• We reserve the right to invalidate the warranty if a mattress | base is found to be unsanitary.

Not covered under warranty

• Mattress, cloth handles or foundation ticking /stitching pulling loose after
  4(four)months from purchase.
• Damages due to abuse: bent mattress border wire, torn and scuffed fabric, burns, Splintered wood, stains, insect infestation or any unsanitary conditions.
  

Mattress with no label.

• Firmness and comfort preference which may cause or aggravate any medical conditions.
• Products subjected to weight in excess of their design limits.
• Cover (fabric).
• Normal wear and tear.
• Normal body impressions.
• Mattress damage due to incorrect base support.
• Mattress used for a purpose other than what it was built for.
• Any damages incurred during transport by customer moving home.
• Transportation cost due to repair, replacement or inspection.

General

• 1 Year from date of invoice in respect of frame and craftsmanship and regardless of whether it is an upholstered product or not.
• Excludes accessories and carpets.
• Your guarantee provides for a free repair or replacement of any faulty component, provided that the product is in one of the designated delivery areas.

Terms

• Please keep your invoice and guarantee in a safe place, as you will need to produce them in the unlikely event of a claim.
• Your guarantee applies only to the original purchaser of the product and is not transferable.
• The guarantee does not extend to the fabric or leather used to upholster the product as this is subject to wear and tear associated with use.
• Furthermore, usage and treatment in the customer’s environment is beyond Coricraft’s control.
• Your guarantee provides for a free repair or replacement of any faulty component, provided that the product is in one of the designated delivery areas.

Guarantees do not apply to:

Defects or damage arising from:

• Negligence
• Abuse or misuse
• Improper maintenance – referred to as ‘dressing’

Exposure to:

• Water
• Direct sunlight
• Coastal air
  
• Chemicals
• Accidents
• Any use for which the product was not designed
• Ordinary wear and tear
• Failure to comply with Coricraft’s care instructions or specifications
• Extreme use is considered:

Damages caused by more than normal wear and tear, including:

• Solvent spills
• Ink
• Paint
• Body fluids (Human or Animal)
• Incorrect cleaning
• Sitting on arms and backs of the sofas
• Placing furniture outdoors in direct sunlight or proximity to an open heat source

Coricraft will only be liable to honour a Guarantee if

• The defect existed at the time of delivery and manifested during the guarantee period
• The defect did not arise due to normal wear and tear or misuse/abuse by the customer
• The product concerned is used for the purpose intended and in a domestic environment (i.e., commercial use is not guaranteed)
• The customer duly complied with the care instructions and maintenance
